Luxos presents the all-new, redesgined motors for Summer 2014 1. Mercedes Benz S Class The S class (main picture) is reinventing what it means to be a luxury car. Mercedes cuts no corners with style in this aerodynamic beauty, and technology is in no short supply with 12.3-inch screens, Magic Body Control suspension, and a 360-degree camera. Aluminum was used significantly more in this model than its predecessors, meaning the body is lighter and more rigid. This allows for better handling and efficiency. The S Class has a choice of thee engines: the S 350 BlueTEC, a V6 diesel capable of 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds and up to 51.4mpg; the V6 petrol hybrid also takes 6.8 seconds to reach 62mph but reaches up to 44.8mpg; and the S 500 L, a petrol V8 that can get to 62mph from a standing start in only 4.8 seconds. 2. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray America's Corvette brand hasn't exactly lived up to its reputation in the recent past, but the 2014 Stingray is changing that. The symbol of the American Corvette will be well deserved this year. The Stingray has a carbon-fiber hood and roof, and the body looks like an update on the traditional Corvette—exactly what Chevrolet says they wanted. The Gen V 6.2 liter V8 engine can take the car from 0 to 60 in less than four seconds. Aluminum makes the new chassis 99 pounds lighter than the old steel one, according to Chevy, and makes weight distribution an even split. With 29mpg highway, the gas mileage also trumps its predecessors. 3. 2014 Jaguar F-Type The F-Type is Jaguar's first real return since the E-Type, a legendary car itself. The F-Type has a lot to live up to, and it delivers. Though it takes its inspiration from the D and E Types, the car is obviously a modern interpretation and chief designer Ian Callum says "this car is for now."There are three models of the 2014 F-Type, all with their own engines. The entry-level model has a 3-liter V6 with 340 horsepower. The Type S uses a 380 horsepower engine, and the V8 S gets a 5-liter v* with 495 horsepower. The three engines all go from zero to 60 in a flash, with the standard at 5.1 seconds, the S at 4.8 and the V8 S at 4.2. 4. 2014 Infiniti Q50 Infiniti is reinventing itself with the Q50, which is similar in size to the BMW 5 Series. Bold shapes are seen in every Infiniti, but the Q50 takes this to a new level. Curves and cutouts are everywhere, and the coupe has interesting sculpting in the front and rear, both melding together with the doors. There are two engines available for the Q50, one being a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel, and the other a V6 3.5-litre electric and petrol hybrid engine. The S Premium Hybrid version also has four-wheel drive, allowing for more control than the usual rear-wheel drive in sports sedans. 5. Tesla Model S Tesla is a car that has been in the news a lot lately, and its popularity may make potential luxury buyers overlook it. However, Tesla creates luxurious and unique cars that don't need any petrol at all. Their cars aren't simply hybrids, but all-electric, and this allows its owners to put gas stations and prices out of their minds. The Model S does not skimp on power either, with the ability to go from zero to 60mph in 5.4 seconds, a top speed of 125mph, and no tailpipe emissions. The Model S Performance model is the sporty brother of the S, going from zero to 60 in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 130.All of this, and Tesla still does not cut corners on design and technology. The body of the Model S is streamlined and sleek, complete with door handles that become flush with the body when not in use. The interior is stylish, with large screens dominating the dashboard. The hood and trunk both serve as storage, as Tesla cars do not need engines. Source: http://luxos.com/
